It uses a Pasonic CR2032 3 V battery.
Have any of you changed it yet? Is there some trick to snap it back in?
I did the change but the case will not snap back together?

Make sure you have it lined up correctly, and keep pushing. It *does* take more force to snap it back together than it seems like it should, but it does snap afterall.

I just replaced mine 3 days a go and I thought I was going to break my fob. Make sure the battery side in on the bottom flat on a table and slowly press down on the top half of the fob on one the corners and gradually go around the whole fob.
I replaced the battery in my Lexus fob the other day and it was much easier. 3 screws and it was done.

The Lexus was easier because it isn't a Corvette.
I have tried it both ways with the key hole on it and removed. The battery is in the way it came out with the numbers facing down. I'll try it again on a table. I do notice that it has like a rubber seal going around it.
won't the oil damage t he circuits as it can seep in.
No, WD-40 is sometimes sprayed on circuits to absorb water....but I'm not talking about anywhere near that much anyway. Just spray a tiny bit on a kleenex and then wipe the gasket with it. Nowhere near enough to seep anywhere. Really, it just makes it SNAP easily.

Actually will WD-40 break the rubber seal? Not water tight for sure.
Yup, its fine too. And many here have had the fob go through the wash cycle accidentally, most survived and continue to work!
Wow! so then after putting it back together it was still water tight. I'm going to have to tackle mine again. Right now I'm using FOB #2. Sounds like the WD-40 or silicone oil will loosen up the rubber seal so it will snap back on and not eat up the rubber seal?
