Default Wierd Door / Window Problem...

I have an 08 Coupe, 3LT, NPP and recently had something wierd to happen and was wandering if anyone else has experienced the problem.

My car sat outside in the wonderful weather of South MS for a couple weeks (while my unit helped with Hurricane Gustav relief in LA) and when I got back, the passenger door would not open from the outside (it would from the inside with no problem). Then the window (same door) started continously going up and down (only the path/length of that it does when it's indexing for the door to open/close), the only way to get it to stop was to keep trying to roll it down with the control on the drivers door and not attempt to roll it all the way up. After a while the window wouldn't roll up all the way. The next day the door started opening from the outside but the window kept going up and down (as previously stated) when entering/exiting the car).

While this was happening, my M2W would not work?!??

A few days went by and now it seems to be OK and the M2W is working correctly. Anyone have any ideas?

If I take it to the dealer now I'm sure they won't be able to recreate the issue and it'll be a wasted trip.

Thanks for the help!

First blush tells me that you need a new passenger door switch. It is a very, very easy install. It would contribute to both the door not opening from the outside as well as the window index issue. The switch is not terribly expensive as I recall. You could consider replacing it yourself if you don't have confidence in your dealership.

I'm not sure this helps, but my mild to wild works on/off. I went to the dealer and wouldn't you know it...it decided to work. It's properly grounded so it's a mystery to me (and them).

Thanks for the info. I'll get up with my dealer (they have been nothing but great with the 07 Vette that I had) and let them look at it.

My 08 Z06 did that a couple weeks ago, except the door opened fine from the inside, and out. The drivers side window would continuously index up/down when the door was shut. I finally managed to roll the window down, then up, and it was fine after. I had just finished washing it with my pressure washer, and wondered if that had something to do with it. Hasn't done it since...

Spoke too soon. As I stepped into the garage, heard a noise, sure enough, my driver window was indexing repeatedly. Washed it today, coincidence? Looks like I'll be calling the dealership tomorrow. Not worried, shat happens, and it should be an easy fix.

The day after this post I received a recall notice for the keyless access system not working (or something like that). I took the Vette to the dealer and they said that they had to order the part to fix the recall issue and that it (the recall issue) was causing the problem. Supposed to be fixed next week.
