Been lurking for a long time - planning to pick up a 'vert in a few months. Got a quick question, though!
Had my mind all made up and settled on Jetstream Blue (even found one at a nearby dealership so I could check it out up close.) This weekend, however, I saw a gorgeous C6 coupe parked on the side of the street in downtown Black Mountain, NC (in case the owner happens to be here), and actually stopped, got out and took a closer look! It was a deep red metallic, like a claret (almost ruby but darker, I think.)
So, what is it and what years was it offered??? I still think I like JSB but...
Thank you! It looked much richer and more complicated IRL than it has in photos I've seen on the forum (not unusual) but I wasn't sure that was it. Absolutely beautiful!

That was my second choice. I spent a full hour at the dealer simply walking from JSB to Black to Crystal Metallic Red.
I chose JSB.
After seeing CRM in person, I can certainly understand the dilemma! In fact, I was wondering yesterday if I could get my local dealership to get a JSB 'vert and one of these whatever-color-it-was red 'vert to put side-by-side for ME to compare! Not quite ready to spend yet, though, so I wouldn't jerk anyone's chain at this point...

Thanks again! This thread has been VERY helpful.
What interested me in JSB was seeing posts of a JSB in different lighting conditions. The color changes. When you see this in person it will remind you of the old pearl paint jobs only better. My car is a different color depending on the light. I really like it.

Local dealership had a JSB Z06 on the lot for about a day recently. I was able to see it in mid-day sun, in late afternoon and under lights. I had been looking at different colors for quite some time and seeing JSB in person instantly took all the others out of the running for me - until this weekend. The complexity of JSB is only apparent when seen in person and under varying conditions, I think. The CRM impressed me the same way.

Dang!!! Decisions, decisions...
OK! My thank to all of you for your help!

That is correct GTO. When you drive down a tree lined road so that you are cosntantly in and out of various areas and levels of shade the color really changes. It is unbelievable.
Try and test drive one of each down a street like that and see for yourself.

-- The 3 reds, in previous post, also change in different lighting. --
That's beautiful, too! I have a deep appreciation for the precious metals as well. My '04 GTO (God rest her soul) was Quicksilver Metallic and was almost blinding on a sunny day! Right up until the day I looped it into a railroad tie. <sniffle>.
A neighbor had a pair of '67 convertables when I was a lad. A blue one with white top & interior and a yellow one with all black. Kinda set the standard for me...
