Default Magnetic selective ride control problem - help!

Hi, I just bought a 2006 Coupe and have the (magnetic selective ride control) or F55 suspension. I cannot tell much of a difference, but have only had the car a week. When in tour mode, I feel every tiny bump to the point that I may have loosened a few fillings.

I searched and read that for the C5's, there may be a brace for shipping in the shocks that may not have been removed. Is this a possibility?? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Scott

You should feel the bumps more in the sports mode. The real differences can be felt on wash board roads. Just switching back and forth on smooth road, you will not feel any differences. There were no ties on the C6 shocks. Only the prior generations had them.

I have tried both modes over bumpy roads and it feels the same. Is there any way to know if the system is working??

You will notice mostly in cornering.
Remember the F55 suspension regardless of the mode you are in is working constantly to smooth out the ride by sensing and compensating for the road soemthing like 60 time per second.
Take it through some twisties and you will notice the difference.

It's working. Try this, find a isolated straight freeway, set the cruise control, ride the lane dividers, and feel the difference as you switch back and forth. You will feel the rhythm of the bumps stay the same but the shock of the bounce will be different.

OK, no jokes about the rhythm method!

Thanks,

I will try that on the freeway. I did the same thing on a city street at 30 mph and the divider bumps felt the same.

I no longer complain when my wife asks me to run errands. Sometimes the errands just take longer than in the past.

The best way to tell the difference is to find a safe straight section of road and start jiggling the steering wheel back and forth to get the front end rocking back and forth. Start switching back and forth between the modes and you will definitely feel the difference. The suspension will firm up considerably in sport mode. You can't tell the difference in normal driving because the shocks react so quickly.

Believe it or not the best way I have found to tell the difference is on concreate roads with the aggregate expossed. In sport mode you will feel every little pebble. The other place is high speed sweeping corners. In sports mode the car feels tigher than in tour mode
