Every single one of us who drives a C6 knew exactly what we were buying (I hope!) and knew the front license plate situation is messed up. I knew from day one I wouldn't stick the ridiculous factory contraption on my lawn mower let alone my '09.

So, IMHO, we should make good decisions and not beat ourselves or others to death over things we CAN control.

Peace, out.

I tried this bracket about 18 months ago. After a month or so on the car the front plate was bent considerably from scraping against ground obstructions. My air dam scrapes frequently, and when it does the plate gets hit too. I pulled it off the car.

So far, after almost 3 years of driving without the front plate I've received just one warning from a state trooper. Will continue to take my chances for now.

I don't doubt that the difference is insignificant under most conditions, but I guarantee you would experience a difference if you were to run a few hot laps around a circuit on a hot day.

Consider F1 - the sizes of the brake ducts vary by track. Seemingly small differences make very significant differences in air flow under hard driving conditions.

You probably won't do that and I probably won't, either, so I guess we can agree that any difference is essentially moot for us.
I agree and would remove the plate mount if I did.

I think everyone in 2 plate states should complain about it to thei state representatives. I just don't like being pulled over for stupid things. I even got pulled over in my CTS V before the perm plates came in because I didn't have a front plate. No ticket but it was a real waste of time.

"Every single one."

I'm willing to bet that the MAJORITY of C6 buyers did NOT know.

There is just NO EXCUSE for the ridiculous factory plate "bracket." It is 100%, certified JUNK.

I ended up ordering a Top Flight today. You guys convinced me.

I got my Aero Plate bracket today and mailed it back to them. I found out that a co-worker has one on his car and that he's had problems with it coming loose and moving around. He ended up having to drill/tap larger threads, etc. and I just don't want to deal with that. He also had to use a lot of Velcro, since it rubbed on the fascia.

Removable or not removable? Either way, they have a great product. I wouldn't buy one if it wasn't the law here but TF does sell a nice product.

Ready for the big night race this weekend?

They had the remote control front plate mount at Funfest at $159 and 10% off. But they also had the manual version for $59 and 10% off. I got it and installed in about 20 minutes when I got home.

I felt that I will drive with it up and the few times that I want it down, it only takes one second to lower and slide it back manually.

I'll post a pic when I have it outside.

Yeah, I'm looking forward to this weekend's F1 race.

I'd love to drive one of those cars, though the leanring curve must be pretty intimidating.

I got the fixed TF plate. It shipped 3 hours after I ordered it and I should have it by today. (They're in MA and I'm one state over in RI).
