Does the Nav system in the 05-08 play dvd's? & is there a way to attach a Ipod cable?

No it does not play DVD's from the factory. You can mail order the unit to a company in New York that will solder a video in/audio in pigtail to the motherboard of the unit that will enable you to hook up an external video source such as a DVD player.

No it does not come with the ability to attach an Ipod or other MP3 player. There are a couple of aftermarket addon solutions that will allow an Ipod to attach to the unit. None are great, a couple are pretty good. GM has also been developing a unit called the Personal Audio Link (finally a working prototype is in test) but it has been a long time in development and sort of become a running joke here on the forum as lots of folks I guess wouldn't have bought their car if they had known that they couldn't hook their Ipod to it.

Correction the NAV is DVD Based. So technically it plays DVD's but not the kind we both think he is talking about.

And as further stated in the Owners Manual. Am wondering if anyone reads those things anymore. They should just quit printing them to save us a few hunderd bucks.
