Default 08 Vette Help Please!

So, I'm new here and am looking into buying a new 08 Yellow Corvette. Here's the options:

- C6 Yellow Coupe
- LT3
- Exhaust System (NPP)
- 6 Speed Automatic (MX0)
- Z51 Performance Package (Z51)
- Polished Aluminum Wheels (QG7)

Quite frankly, I don't care much for the upgraded rims, exhaust, or the Z51 package, but I'm hoping to get a good deal on it here. The MSRP on it is $57,640, and they offered me the employee pricing on it for $49,428.50. Since then, I've talked them down to $46,999, and am wanting to go cheaper.

I need to do some more searching around the forums, as well as locate other forums and get more info on the matter, but what is a good deal exactly on this car? What should I shoot for exactly? Could I get some links to some threads helping out possibly?

I'm really into this car, and took it out for a spin today. Man, it was nice! I'm just hoping, well, wanting to get the price down more. They did drop it down due to the employee pricing, but I know they can go down more on this thing! How do I do it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! I'm also going to see what some basic mods are to these as well, so links regarding that would be helpful as well.

Thanks,

- Justin

That price is about $3000 below invoice. Sounds like a very good deal to me.

But if they can go cheaper, just keep doing what you're doing -- dragging it out -- and they will. Or they'll sell the car to somebody else.

Sounds like a good deal....though the employee discount program ends 12 days. If your trading something in, expect them make up that 3K in dropping the "value" of it.

Thanks for the help everyone! I'm thinking I can pull it out the door for $45,000 and split the tax/title/license part. We'll see come Monday...

So what about some mods? Bolt-ons, exhaust, suspension, etc.? What's recommended? I'm pretty excited about this!!!!

very doubtful re #6 post, but you can keep trying. and if it gets away from you, you've lost nothing except the car which you didn't want with those options anyway. bon chance.

I can save you almost $20K off their asking price!

My car is not new but it is yellow and has a six speed (manual) and gets around 30 mpg on road trips.

I have my '02 Millineum Yellow convertible with 6 speed manual for sale on the C5 for sale section of this forum. It has less than 27k miles on it and is in excellent condition. It is still under GMPP zero deductible warranty until Apr 2009 or 52.1 k miles.
I am only asking $28,500 for this beautiful garage queen. Check out my ad in the "C5s for sale" section of this forum as it has plenty of photos.

LoL, not quite. I've got to stay under control with this, and keep under my limits. I've also go to compensate for mods! IMO, I currently drive an 06 Mustang GT Vert (Yellow), with full boltons, suspension, etc. and it's a nice 12 second car. This Vette is something else though...damn it's sick as hell!

I'm going to be researching these C6's non stop this weekend to see what I need to dip into mid 11's or so. Then I'll be a happy freaking camper!!!

Not a chance. You're asking for another $2000 off the price AND for them to eat another roughly $2000 by picking up half the tax and license - sorry, but that's ridiculous IMO. You're not making it easy for the dealer to take you seriously.

Well, the thing is that my friend and I are both purchasing Vettes, plus we might have another person jump in to make it three. As of right now, I'm hoping to get around $45k or so. I haven't justified, or verbally set a price through them...yet. There are more factors that come into play here as well that I did not mention, but should of been mentioned. These Vettes had "light hail" damage on them a couple months back. My yellow one had the hood replaced, right quater panel replaced, and something else. EVERYTHING was re-painted on the car, and blended in nice and neat. Hell, it looks as if nothing ever happened. The dealership knocked off 8.5k due to employee pricing, then they knocked off 2k more due to me talking them down, THEN I found out about the hail damage situation from a buddy of mine, and they are trying to see what they can do. I do see exactly where you are coming from though.

I'm hoping to come out around 45k or so, that is my intention, and goal. I also think it is reasonable. I'm looking forward to hopefully owning my first Vette, and getting to the mods!!!

So, maybe I'm just stupid or something, but I'm having trouble coming up with stuff for the 08 LS3's? I'm looking for some basic bolt-ons, exhaust, etc., but want to make sure I'm perfectly safe with doing them. I've found some headers that I'm interested in, LG, Kooks, and American Racing. What exactly do I need to dip into 11's?

In State Buyers pay sales tax based on where you live, licensing fee, and no other fees.

Out Of State Buyers pay no fees. If you would like to fly in and drive the car home, you will have to pay 8.25% California sales tax. We can also have the car shipped to our dealership in Reno, NV for about $400 and you can fly in there and pick it up without paying the 8.25% California sales tax, but you will have to pay the sales tax in your state. You can also have the car shipped from our dealership to your state and you won't have to pay the 8.25% California sales tax. You will be responsible for registering the car in your own state. Also there will be a 10 day hold on all checks including personal and cashier's checks. We will send you the MSO (title) once the 10 day hold has passed and it will be overnighted to you. If you are financing the car with us, we will send you the MSO (title) once we have been funded from the bank which is usually about 5 days.

Exactly! I'm going to keep trying to get what I want, but the thing is that if I get it, I get it, if I dont'...I don't. Either way, I'll be happy. I'm just looking for a great deal, and now is the time!

I would say jump on this deal fast. Honestly it doesn't matter if you buy 2, 3, or even 5 of these. A dealership is not going to lose thousands of dollars just to sell a car (unless it is a demo or something like that). Also remember the cheaper you get the car for, the less you can expect it to be worth in the future as a trade in.
