Default qtp exaust cutout install switch problem

i installed qtp exaust cutouts and it has electric switch
the sound is amazing from stock to cutouts open , it sounds like corvette should sound, much more fun to drive
i had exaust cutout on my previous car and the car felt much faster, now i feel the same it goes so much stronger, spinning wheels so much more then when closed.

i just have a problem the mechanik installed the switch and the light on the swtich is always on, even when i shut the car off. he did somthing wrong there i guess

i afraid it would kill my battery

is any one here knows what he should do to fix the problem?
the guy is not sure if there is another fuse box where he can connect to

i have same problem when i pluged my radar detector in sigaret lighter outlet it always stays on even when the car is shut off

WHY?

The problem is that there are very few switched power sources available. I wired my radar detector into the seat heater fuse and it is switched.

Can someone explain more about these. I was considering a NPP exhaust with Mild-to-wild but this may be a cheaper option

how do you connect your radar detectors?
are they shutting off when the car is off, or they stay on all the time?

Your problem is the switch is fused through a curcuit that remains hot at all times just like the cigarette lighter. Suggest you have it wired to a curcuit that is not hot all the time such as the seat heaters or any other curcuit that is dead with the key in the off position. You can do that by tapping in to any such curcuit and putting a fuse between the tap and the switch to protect everything should the cut-out electrics draw too much current when activated. Same logic goes for the radar detector.

Yes, I would use the seat heater circuit like others have suggested...good luck

Any electrical device that constantly stays on is going to draw power from your battery. I would be worried as I have heard similar dead battery stories from others that do not run their vehicles on a frequent basis.

For you cutout switch, assuming it is only an LED indicator that remains energized, you are probably looking at minimal power draw- maybe close to what the blinking door lock LED's would generate.

Your radar detector would draw considerably more power.

If this is a DD, you might be able to get away with leaving these plugged in.

If you only drive the car once a week or so, I would definitely be worried.

I have been considering cutouts for my vette. I'm on the fence between QTP and DMH. What convinced you to choose the QTPs?

If you can use 3" cutouts, I have a set I will be selling soon, never installed. I have a custom welded exhaust and there just isn't room for them anywhere.

i got qtp because it was 315, cheaper then i found other brand sqare kind was over 400
they look very well build, the guy at exaust shop was amazed of the qlty.

i dont have a seat heater option, and i drive every day so i guess iwill be ok.

the sound is incredible when i shift at the red line from first to second it sounds like a gun shots, spins tire more then before, feels stronger for sure
BEST MOD for me
