Default Please just say OUCH......

Sat night coming home from listening to a great local band the wife decided she need to stop to PPPPPPPPPPPP., so I stopped at the Moble station for her....the one that has the shack on about 7 inch concrete platform...well I dropped her off and went around the building...and pulled up about 6 to 8 inch away from the platform...she got in and there was a car parked against the curb in front...so I thought I had room to turn right and low and behold I misjudge the clearance...take a look. if the is a body shop person looking at this please give me a good guess at how bad it is...$$$$

Body Shop Update

Well make it to the body shop where the GEICO rep is....we chatted for a few minutes went outside to look and he took one look.....hmmmmm how that happen....I told him the curb won the race...all joking aside...he took pictures went back to the computer and came back out....well it doesn't look all that bad, Oh just under $3000. They will have to blend the paint on the whole passenger side and that means to remove my invisible bra and replace that too...Check back with him next week around Wed or Thursday it should be done. Then to top the whole thing off come to find out we were in the Army the same time and station on the same base and got out at the same time and were on the same Police Department at the same time. We caught up for the next 30 min...Talk about having good luck on this one...

All said and done the total cost was $3000 - my $500 deduct = $2500 from GEICO...it looks like nothing ever happen to her...

I run a body shop and I just put the damage into my estimating system. You need to replace the right side rocker panel , which is actually the aperture panel. I would not repair that rocker!!!!....You are looking at about 1300.00....Just my estimate from the photo....

Wife had to "PPPPPPPPPPPPP", as you put it......after doing that, I think that I'd have had to do something else!!!
I feel your pain though......back in 1977, I had a brand new Olds 4-4-2, Candy Apple red, white vinyl top....
I pulled into a new gas station that did not have all of their pumps installed yet, but HAD installed the metal posts full of concrete at the end of all of their pump islands.......hit that sucker with the driver's door and opened up about 3 feet of the car like a can opener....I DO feel your pain when you do something like that to your own car....no one to even yell at!!!!!!!!!

When I showed my wife the picture...she is quite the quick poet.......
Take the road, and don't hit the curb.
for driving too close is really absurd.
Go ahead, and swing the Vette wide
and keep the concrete off your passenger door side.

Ouch. My condolences. You picked the one piece of the car that is actually glued onto the frame instead of fastened ... not good.

Best of luck getting it fixed. On the bright side, its a good excuse to upgrade to the later "Corvette" door sills ...
