Don't have my car here at the house to measure the two cargo boxes but I know there is a warning in the owner's manual about storing heavy objects. There's a chance you can damage the storage area if an object is too heavy. Maybe something heavy, rolling around, could puncture the storage area. Hope this helps. 
Ok, just took some measurements on my '08 coupe and find that the storage bin on the left side is slightly bigger. Both bins are about 8 inches deep but the left bin is about 13 3/4 inches from side to side and 7 inches from front to back. The right side bin isn't as uniform in shape as the left. You'll see what I'm talking about the next time you take at peek at the storage units. This should help.
