Default Apsis style flaps

I am really considering the Apsis long flaps for my new Cyber Gray Convertible, but am a little taken back by the price. Any one up for a group purchase, or know of any other options that are of equal quality?

Get the GM set of four for about $100 for the set and have them installed.

Great item.

I have the short in the front and long in the back on my machine silver and they look great. The folks at APSIS really know customer service and were a great help. Went in smmothly. Also installed the new side vents this weekend and will post soon.

I echo the comments on the GM '09 stock flaps available from Gene at GMPartsHouse they are about $100, are not overly obtrusive looking when installed, work well and are TOUGH (read-up on the durability of the Apsis units). They fronts install in minutes, the backs you need to jack up one side and take the tire off and futz with a bit but the whole job's like a hour. Must do mod for a daily driver.

APSIS GUARDS:
I have the APSIS C6 Z06 Style Splash Guards - Long Version, front & rear, and I just love them!!! I think they look good, give the car a bit of a wider stance, blend very nicely with the car body/wheel well, and are really easy to put on. The color of the guards matches the color of the rear facia panel very closely. Also, they form fit to the wheel very well without hardly any gap. But even better, they work!

I think they were well worth the money -- IMHO -- quality vendor, quality workmanship/product, look great, and they help to reduce wear and tear on the panels for my DD. I've also had positive comments about them from the vette club members as well as at a vette show I was in last month.

Installation: It only took me about 5 minutes per front and 8 minutes per rear to put them on, no jacking required. The rears only took a bit longer because I had to lay down on the ground to remove the clips from underneath the rear facia panel, instead of sitting on a low seat to remove the front clips :-) The guards use the standard clips/holes that are already there and then are augmented with 3M VHB super sticky tape to get the "non-clipped" part to stick to the wheel well... and they do stick!

GM GUARDS:
Some people have installed the GM C6 Z06 splash guards on their C6 Non-Z06. The Apsis long version guards are comparable looking, IMHO, to the GM ZO6 ones. From photos, I cannot tell the difference between the Apsis ones and the GM Z06 ones. Following is a thread related to installing the GM Z06 ones on a C6: Z06 Splash Guard Install-Final Chapter (URL: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1580557)

The new 2009 OEM GM splash guards are now available. Some people say that these guards are not as wide/do not stick out as much as the Apsis ones. Following is some info from Gene Cully:

I really like the look but its a rather sizable 'pill' since the GM splash guards do more or less the same thing at a fraction of the price.
Sorry APIS

I gotta be honest....I think the Apsis guards stick out WAYYYY too far. The factory offset wheels tuck into the fenders a little bit and the result is that the guards actually guard against.....nothing. There simply isn't any tire to "fill" the look of them.

On the other hand, the GCA splashguards are subtle, effective and look like they were designed for the car....because they were. I have the rears on my car and you would NOT know they are aftermarket based on appearance.

Default Study in splash Guards

Since I purchased my 05 last year I've bought 4 different style splash guards for the car. I have a brand new, set of ASPIS long style. If your interested PM me. I also have a modified set of Z06 guards for the rear, used, and a set from Ed front and rear. Each has it's pro's and con's, just depends on your taste and budget.

I have the short Apsis splash guards on the front and OEM GM Z06 splash guards on the rear. It takes a little work to make the Z06 splash guards fit, but it's not too hard to do. I like the look. And it's cheaper than doing both the front and rear Apsis splash guards.

The new GM splash guards are nice, but in my opinion they are too small and don't offer near the protection of the Apsis or Z06 splash guards. They are better than nothing though.

The new GM guards are on my car. 30 minutes (rear wheels off/wheels on took most of that time) to install. There were some holes to drill on the rear mounting area. The black fender liner got the holes. Attached the front in 5 minutes, push pin swap and tape removed and you're done.

Look great. Not obtrusive and don't look huge and redneck.

Best bang for the buck going.

I'm sure the Apsis guards are good quality, and I'm willing to pay for quality. For me, the Apsis are way to noticeable! I hated putting splash guards on my Corvette! I went for Pipedreams' guards on my 2006, and ended up loving them! Did the job and blended in with the trim, and tires, hardly noticeable. I expected to buy a new set for my 2009, but GM offered guards designed for the car, so for me that was a no brainer. The GM guards are less noticeable, than Pipedreams, but time will only tell if they do as good a job protecting? Meanwhile, Pipedreams guards were still in such good shape, I took them off the 2006 before trading!

I installed the rears on mine, about an hour. I'm waiting for my Racemesh screens to come in before I install the fronts which shouldn't take more than a half hour as they mount in the existing holes with new push-pins. The rears look awesome and as someone mentioned, very strong and do provide good protection. Got them from Gene.

Installed the GM ones that I purchased from Gene - took about 1/2 hour to install them all - fronts went on by installing new push pins in the current holes - rear, I just added more 3M double sided tape - been on for almost a month and have had the 2008 Pace Car at some 100+ speeds and they are holding nicely with just the tape!

Thanks for all the input. I didn't think about the GM flaps, but that is what I am going with. I like that they are not as obtrusive. I will post some pics after they are installed!
