Has any one disassembeled the sealed lheadlights of a C6 and repainted the inside? I have a silver C6 trimmed in black, the spoiler, and cab are black. I am looking for black head lights but they are too expensive to just change the color.
As Dan indicated a couple of members have done it. It is risky and not as easy to do as it has been on some of the imports. The headlight units are a sealed unit. The lexan cover is permanently bonded to the colored base by the supplier. Any modification will of course void the warranty.
With other sealed units it was sometimes possible to bake the unit in an oven to soften the adhesive but it has been indicated that this does not work on the Corvette lights. The ones that I have seen painted were actually mechanically separated using a dremel and a cutting blade, painted and then re-bonded.

Don't care for my LMB lights. If I had a no cost option, I would have preferred black ones. Not a fan of the Monochromatic(everything one color) look. $1800 + installation seems a little too much to pay for this mod compared to something more dramatic/ noticeable like a rear widebody kit.
