Last friday i had AVON TECH M550 A/S tires installed on my
vette.....WHAT A DIFFERENCE !
I have read many threads on the difference that non-runflats
make ,but, you can't understand the difference until you actually do it.
Yes , i got a tiny air compressor 8.95,fix a flat 3.00 (that says on the can that it is safe for tire sensors), i even got a tiny plug kit .
NO more runcraps for me....
1y, tell me if you had this conversation with the tirerack person: "I just want you to know these tires might be a little louder than other tires. they're made from other tires being recycled." that is what I was told a couple years back when I was pricing them for another car, and I'm not dreaming this up because it's the only place that sells them to my knowledge.
With a 360 tread rating I couldn't imagine they'd be stickier than the stock runflats?
I need to order new tires this week and will definitely be going with a non runflat. I'm glad to hear they're working out well for you
Just curious - I replaced the tires on my 05 Z51 with non-runflats however since then I have heard good things about the new Firestone runflats (which were not available when I needed new tires). Why wouldn't you consider them??
I replaced my worn out run flats on my C5 with Michelin PS2 A/S...I can tell you that the difference was like night and day........The sidewalls in non runflats are so much more flexible that the tires are MUCH !!! quieter and better riding over bumps and other road imperfections...you simply cannot believe the difference until you drive your car back to back with them and without............JMHO............

I couldn't agree more The only bad thing that i can say
about the M550 a/s tires is that under hard acceleration , they don't
have quite the traction/ bite. But it's not bad. I think that they corner
better. not one fifth the bouncy/choppy ride ! One tenth the noise !
The best part is if the weather gets bad , i won't have a garage queen !
Yes, i bought them from tire rack and had them shipped directly to the dealer. $ 823.59 for all four shipped.

No such conversation took place, "in my situation". As i said they are
one tenth the noise of the good craps.
