i hope i can stop it from coming but...i need to get a battery tender so i need an expert advice on this...whats the best product out there and where can you get them...im planning on storing it till the weather gets nice again...thx
Actually you don't need the best one out there, you just need a good one. I use three and they are all different and they all have worked the same for the last three years. Ranged in price from $25-$35.
I went to Advance Auto and got a Schumacher for about $20. A friend modified it so it plugged into my lighter. Used to loop the cord thru 1" top of window. Just recently found out from CF members that there's a little dimple on doorsill and can string cord thru it. Will do that this winter. Worked flawlessly all last winter for me.

The dimple works. Sears charger/tender...I think I spent about $30-$40...
I use a CTEK Battery Charger US3300 and it works great. Does not over charge the battery.
I used a CTEK 3300 all last winter. In an unheated garage, with low temperatures frequently in the sub zero range, the CTEK kept the battery fresh for the entire winter season.
I suggest the cigarette lighter adapter for a very easy connect and disconnect.
what the difference between battery charger and battery tender?
they say to use battery tender for winter but the cytek3300 that most guys are using is a battery charger...can i get a clarification on this PLZ...thx
I was just going to disconnect the battery and hook it back up when spring arrives. Anything wrong with this strategy? I have the car in a garage with power available, if the battery tender is a better way to go.

I think they might be saying "battery charger" but meaning "tender." You want to be sure that whatever you buy has a trickle feature so that when the battery is re-charged to full capacity, the tender "trickles" the power. Most good battery tenders will do this, but MAKE SURE! You will ruin your battery if your charger/tender over charges the battery.
I researched the heck out of this a couple months ago and I settled on the Deltran Battery Tender (as mentioned in my earlier response).

Battery tender is a MUCH better way to go. Spend the $40.
