Default How low will they go??

Im going to pay off the 7k on my truck then get my dream car. How low do yall think the prices will go? If I hold out and grab an 09 when the 2010's come out how low will it go? Will they offer 0% for 60 months? Buy now or buy in a year? I want a 1Lt with z51 and npp. In a year will I be able to grab one of those for 42k drive out?

depends. where do you live? what is ttl? if you're NYC, or LA or SF, it could be very significant. meaning, I'd have to be dumb to give that if I were a dealer. but......if I'm not moving inventory, maybe half a loaf is better than none.

1LT, NPP and Z51, list would be somewhere in the upper 40s. I doubt 42 out the door. I also doubt 60 mo., 0%. 48 mo., maybe.

Couldn't agree with ya more. If ya wait till the economy gets worse and prices come down more, you may be unemployed by then anyway and will never get one!

Hard choice. Winter is comming on, no one knows what the economy will do, future ncentives? Buy now and enjoy or wait until spring when prices go up. Hard choice. If your job is stable I would do it now. None of us have a crystal ball.

totally depends on economy, credit. My belief is that many vette sales over the past 10 years have been to marginal buyers who could barely afford the car. Increases in costs of all sorts not to mention tax hikes on the wealthy ( family income over $35,000 per year ) will conspire to reduce the numbers of people who can afford a vette. ( or anything as expensive as a vette )

Just how much of the cost of a new vette at msrp is pure hot air with all the increases of the past ten years?

Only time will tell and winter is coming. Total inventory of 08+09s is now just about identical to what total 08 inventory was....and that was heading into the spring and summer sales season.

Yes, they will reduce production but not my much IMO. They will force the cars onto the dealers. They have to pay the union workers whether they work or not. Might as well have them working.

who knows

Check the dealer showrooms about December 22nd during an ice storm. Pretty good deals about then.

Do it now !!!! If you wait a year, that is a whole year lost to enjoy your car. I could have waited and maybe saved $1000.00 but I wouldn't trade the time I have spent driving my car for that $1000.00....

drive out to me is the equivalent of "out the door" which means including tax, tags and license. that isn't being included on any advertisement that I'm seeing. nor are any of the el cheapo ads for '09s at this time, which is what OP was asking about, not '08s.

let's do what oregon suggests: wait until an ice storm around 12/22, and see what the prices are on a 2009, 1LT, NPP, Z51.

Plus, if OP can ONLY PAY with a 0%, 60 month loan/financing, it's a non-starter, right? I mean, a 60 month, 5% loan for a new car on $42K is $792/month. While a 0% on 60 months, is $700.

Even the 48 month deal I mentioned on the same amount, at 5% interest is $967.

This begins to sound like a wish list......
