Window on my '05 C6 will not go up when i shut the door.
Just bought a 2005 C6 today. Don't know much about the car, no owners manual, but my drivers window will not go up when i get out and shut the door. The passenger window lets down when you open the door and goes back up when you shut the door. I would appreciate any help on this problem and any other need to be known facts about my car. Thanks, BCOGGIN

Up on the top of this section are stickeys. See the FAQ for re-indexing the windows. Also, buy an owners manual; it's thick but it's got lots of info in it.
If someone can find it, there may be a free one online via a PDF.
Here's the one from Forum Vendor, Gene Culley's site for your 2005 (frankly, you'll be better off with a hard copy in your glovebox---maybe you can buy it from Gene!) :

It sounds like you simply need to re-index your windows.
Power Window Initialize
After a power reconnect such as battery
replacement, the window index-up feature will not
function until the system is initialized. Once
power is restored, do the following:
1. Close the door.
2. Raise the window by pulling up the switch.
3. Hold the up switch for three seconds after the
window is closed. Release the switch.
4. Hold the up switch again for three seconds
and release.

"In honor of jpee"
just got back with the instructions but Paul beat me to it. this from Jabez:
Try re-setting the indexing.
Bring up the windows, let go of button. Pull up on button again and hold for 5 secs. (If it is really quiet you can hear a slight beep.)
He sez 5, Paul sez 3 seconds. Take your pick. I'd go 3 first.

Your window(s) may need to be re-indexed by doing the following:

Drifting
bump. I have the same issue.
At first after new battery, I parked my car, closed the windows (or so I thought) and left it for a few days. It rained in a meantime. I came back to my car with pass side all wet. Apparently it didn't close about 1/2 inch before the full closing.
The windows and all electricity was working fine later though.
I dropped it off at a garage to do some exhaust work, came back to pick it up next day, the pass window won't go up. At all, tried everything.
After 20 minutes of driving, I park my car in a garage, park it and not even shut it down when I press hopelessly the pass window button up and window suddenly goes up!!
Next day driving with a gf, windows all closed when the pass window out of no reason rolls down.
It's been down ever since. Tried adjusting the indexes but it doesn't work since the window won't even raise up. I can hear the mechanism to a quiet stutter sound and then it simply doesn't respond.
Reconnected the battery again, nothing helped. Indexes, still nothing.
Help me.
