Default Gauge location

I am going to a FI set up the "off season". I was wondering what are the options on gauge placement other than the POD on the A plier. Some of you guys are very creative and I am looking for alternatives. Also which gauges are the most useful in monitoring the the super charger?

Maybe also try asking in the C5 Forced Induction/Nitrous section.

I find A pillar pods somewhat intrusive. If you're only going with one gauge (Boost), this works out nicely with minimal interior disruption..I use my Scan gauge for all other supplemental data..(IAT, Water temps, Fuel trims, etc.)

What kind of issues do you have with the A-pillar? That is clearly the most logical location. Mine have been on for 3 years and never has been an issue. No way would I ever give up a AC vent or mount any gauge where I would have to look down to locate.

Not so much of a issue, just looking for any options that there may be. I want to make sure that it looks first class that is all.

A lot of people dont dig the ugly, mismatched looking A-pillar pods. Myself included. Those that I have seen are usually ill-fitting, and simply look cheap. Its personal preference.

Personally, if you can get your hands on these, I find them to be a less intrusive option. They look a little more modern, in my opinion.

Agreed, but there is a sacrifice to me made with any choice.

Has any body tried to replace the ashtray door with a some kind of display? It may be a little out of your line of sight but it could be a option with the right gauge type!

I originally mounted my Scangauge there, but reading it was problematic. I evenually changed this out for a more readable position...

What did you do instead? I can see that it maybe a little tough to read, but do we only use them to monitor the system? I know that they look cool on the A pillar but the quality of what I have seen so far is not all that good. IMHO

It is now mounted up on the dash on an "L" bracket. Readability in that position is quite good..

Typical A-pillar. I don't really like it but it's easy to see. I couldn't really find anyone that had any other ideas that didn't involve chopping up the inside of the car so I kept it simple. Good luck! FI is fun stuff

I went with autometer sportcomp II mechanical boost and electronic fuel pressure. The pillar pod is also autometer.

Thanks Tim.
I guess it is something that you have to get comfortable with. I wonder if someone makes a pod that is smaller that uses a small gauge set?
