FOB battery question

I have an 06 that has its 3rd birthday this week. How long does the battery in the fob usually last? I drive my car to work so its in use almost daily. Ive had a couple of erratic things happen in the last week. Maybe its telling me its time to change the battery. Or, is it old enough that I should change it now, anyway. Thanks for responses.

GM says they're good for about 3 years. I think that information is in the owner's manual, but I'm not sure. You can get them at Wal-Mart.

I keep a spare CR2032 (DR2032) in a rear compartment. Easy to access if necessary.

Owner's Manual, page 2-9, says about 3 years.

The original on my '05 (Dec. '04 build) showed up as a 'low FOB battery' display on the dash when on my recent trip to Nashville. I got a replacement at the local Chevy dealer. I always take the 2nd fob with on trips, and that one was OK at the time. I'll likely replace it also, just to be safe. That seemed like a reasonable battery life.
