Did Solo 2 for five years with SCCA then went road racing with SCCA for 8 years. It is a blast but can become very expensive, depending on how hard the bug bites and how fast you want to go.

very true. there is a gentlemen at the local autocross that runs a 90's toyota 2wd pickup. he is usually faster then atleast 3/4 of the group.

 

 

Stimpy: I checked out some of your videos, looks like fun. Looks like you shift out of 1st gear pretty quick. At what approximate RPM do you shift at? My first and only solo 2 in the C6, I never got out of first gear and found the throttle so touchy it was hard to control the excitement. Also what kind of tires do you run?

 

I accellerate in 1st right up to the first turn. then go into 2nd and just stay in 2nd the entire time. 1st gear is just too much, and I find it to be pretty much useless.
2nd is perfect, the low end tq in the c6 is awesome and it can go up to 60mph (fastest speed on our course) without issue.

This season I had Kumho MX on C5 z06 rims. Next season i plan on getting a set of V710s.
