Here's what I found in the FAQ's.

This may help although most state the chatter happens when turning
and cold not backing up.

I had the differential fluid changed two weeks ago at our local Chevrolet dealer under warranty.
The car is an early 2007 Coupe that I bought in November 2007---car had 18,000 miles on it and I noticed the noise 6 months (13,000 miles on it) ago and just waited till I needed an oil change.
The fix worked perfectly---noise is gone!!!!!

Took the car in to have the rear end serviced per the TSB and while car's still under warranty. Really thought the issue w/could be solved like everyone else who experienced this PIA, simply by changing rear end fluid.
Wrong.
Service Writer informs me after changing fluid car was STILL making grinding sound. He thought the clutch packs appeared to be shot necessitating replacement.

They've had the car for a week now (since last FRiday), several days supposedly spent allegedly waiting for part(s).
Today I pick it up.
I can't even imagine the P&L Chevrolet charges for this, ie remove carriage assembly, replace ALL clutch packs, then replace carriage assembly.
It has to be a bloody fortune.

Fortunately the warranty will cover this but it has ocurred to me IF some of Chevrolet's dealers wanted, seems to me they could easily scam GM big time.
Well I have an 07 also
but with only 5k miles on it, and had the same problem for a couple thousand miles or so
. I took it to the dealer and had my diff oil changed on Wednsday,so we'll see how it drives now.
The dealer said "It takes about a couple hundred miles for things to get oiled up and things will be fine." He went on to say, "The oil GM used was CRAP and don't know why they used it."
Well I guess with that said, GM is spending more $$$$$$$ now in the long run with all these repairs and bullitins.
Good move GM.

Just got mine back from Dealer today.
Anyone have a link to the GM bulletin on this?
My Repair order says replace fluid per bulletin. Show's they used 2 of something (Quarts?) and the other line looks like labor. Based on the invoice and talking to the guy they didnt add friction modifier but did use synthetic.
BTW - no clunk in reverse and runs like a dream.
