Default Flowmaster Mufflers

Hi Folks Here's another muffler question, I took the flowmasters of my Vette because my wife was not happy with the sound, And while I admit they are a little loud for a daily driver, I liked it. But as you guys know, If shes not happy, nobodys happy. So the question is, What brand of mufflers are quieter than the Flowmasters but aren't as whisper quiet as the stock mufflers. Thanks

Hi,

Below I found 3 brands that might be what your looking for

1. Billy Boat Route 66 is a little over stock
2. Corsa Touring is a little over stock
3. Borla Standard is a little over stock

Dynomax is also a pretty tame, but high flow (efficient) system.

Don't want to either, but I have Corsa Sports on my 06 and do not like that "crackling/burbling" sound when letting off accelerator. Did the Flos eliminate that? If not does anyone have any suggestion as to a system that is not too loud but has more of a "throaty" tone when off the gas? Not too worried about drone. Thinking about a change down the road when finances allow.

Thanks for more questions on exhausts!

I love my fusion set up by Billy Boat. Best of Both worlds. Only negative is the price.

I have B & B Rt 66 on mine with the stock x-pipe. You're not too far from me. I would be happy to let you hear them sometime. Maybe we could meet up in Frederick or somewhere. I will tell you that they do "burble" when letting off the gas but it's deeper than the Corsa's.

I can't answer your questions but I'll state that I LOVE the burble from the Corsa Sports. It's there but it isn't "backfire / out of control".

I know the sound you're looking for - I had it with a big block 1970 Chevelle SS.

I put on Borla Touring mufflers and thought it sounded Great!

For a day I just had the Borla's on and I don't think many people would have asked if I had exhaust with just the Touring mufflers.

It was a bit louder than stock, but to me how the Corvette should have came sounding.

Here is a video at idle with the Long Tubes, I don't know how much different the Long Tubes, X-Pipe and Cats make, but this may help you some.

I love my Borla Touring Mufflers.

Default Well......

my .02... NPP... your happy... wife happy... just push the button, it sounds stock.... wife gone... push the buton... you can have fun. I did it on my 06, and my wife does not have to hear it... Mild to Wild remote.

It is an Easy mod... Lots of people have them for sale... E-Bay always has a couple...

Did you consider keeping the flowmasters and getting rid of the wife?

My wife is the complete opposite. Had Flowmaster on the '05, bought an '08, wife says "too quiet--I liked how the '05 sounded", Flowmaster now on '08, wife likes it, I'm happy.

I've got a SLP Powerflo system - it might be what you're looking for, not too loud, not too quiet.

They're also available in round tips.

I sold my GM Perfromance (Borla Touring) mufflers and got the Flowmasters. I thought the Toruing were too tame and only slightly louder than OEM on a stock motor. My wife likes the Flowmsters better and thinks they sound "like a Vette" now. I think the difference may be becasue I have a convertible and there is not much drone due to the rear trunk being sealed off from the cabin.

Go outside and make a video

I need to hear Flowmasters on a Vette
