Default Fair deal

So I have a chance to buy a 2005 3LT DSOM, with 6200 miles for 32,000.

Good deal or not?

Regards,

Steve

That is a pretty good deal. That is a low mileage car. Good luck.

I think so. Not too many C6s below 35 out there (I might be out of touch though. Mid August I saw a C5 Z06 with 5000 miles going kind of high at 35500 firm. I saw the owner in October and it still wasn't sold. He will try again next march. I thought it would be nice to have a Z06 but the C5s aren't much faster than a stock C6 coupe which the top comes off on. Another car unrelated to yours somewhat but relevant to me was a 2004 black auto vert that the dealer was selling all summer for 33k with 19k miles on her. It sold for 28000 in one week come october. I definately wouldn't lower yours unless it sits til march without selling. Of course circumstances often force one to rush to sale. Hopefully thats not your situation.

Well, you can by a brand new 08 1LT car Z51 for under 39K now, granted it is not a 3LT. I would pay 28K for the car that you are considering.

I'll bet you would, but that would be at auction pricing. 31,500 would be a great deal.

He started a 35k, I offered 31k and he came back at 32k for the car, I think I'm going to go for it, the 6200 miles and color is what I want.

Also the 3lt with the Z51 package seem like it would be fair to both of us.

Thanks,

Steve

The car is worth wath someone is willing to pay for it and no less if you were going to buy that same car new today it would probably be around $16000.00 more then the one you are looking to buy and if your happy wiyh the deal you are getting then I say go for itjust my .02

meadowz06 just likes to post on every message how every car is worth far more than its selling for, because he is trying to sell his car right now and wants its value higher. This is like the 6th different thread i've seen him in.
On another note. I think 32,000 is an ok price depending on if it has other options like nav, z51, etc. But if its the car you really want go for it. Your not getting screwed over, just not getting a steal.

Finding another one with 6200 miles in the color you want with 3LT and Z51 may not be easy. Sounds like a fair price. You're not stealing it, but he's not ripping you off either. Fair price for both of you. I don't understand why so many think that unless you steal it, its not a good deal. If its exactly what you want, does it really matter that much if he wants 32K for a car you offered 31K. Good luck in you decision .

BTW: I like your Cuda.

I have an 07 3LT with Z51, Navigation and 11,300 miles advertised for $35,500. It is still under full bumper top bumper factory warranty for another 15 months and 25K miles.

It has paddle shifting which was not available on 05's.

Is 2 years newer, more options and still under warranty worth only $3,500 more? I think it is.

No matter what anyone says I just watched that same car with 11,000 miles sell at a GM auction for $26,600+$400 in sale fee's. That car needed tires, it had the hood and front bumper painted, scratches on the door that were not buffing out. It was not well cared for and you could tell it was left in the weather prior to being turned in.

Some will not understand or get it but that color will bring the money, wholesale or retail. If thats the only color your willing to accept then you don't have that many cars to choose from. I've seen people pay thousands more for DSOM or Atomic Orange.

If you don't want any other color, don't care about the 6 speed Auto, Factory warranty, and need to stay in the $32,000 or less range then that is a very fair deal. That car with 6,000 miles, 3LT, Z51, with Cashmere interior would do very, very close to $30,000 at an major auction.

IMO, its worth to go a couple years newer for the little price difference. The waranty is a big plus too! A good deal on a DSOM will come along. I just ran a manheim report for all 05 autos that have sold recently and the highest was $29,600 for an above condition red one with 6,600 miles. So, the MOST that any dealer has in that car right now is $30,000. I have already faced the fact that I wont get the money back out of my car and I think I got a great deal at the time. I payed way less for my 06 z51 mn6 with 16000 miles and it was the most perfect used C6 that I had seen. Plus I still have warenty left.
Good luck with your search, you will be happy with the car even if you pay 32K.

Thanks for all the opinions, one thing that was a must is a 6 speed, my Cuda is an auto, and I want the 6 speed. Not changing the Cuda due to numbers matching car.

I know this car was taken care of, and I see a lot of cars where the interior look questionable. Not sure if it has the NAV never ask its not a be deal to me.

Regards,

Steve

The price is in line to what its worth I have a 12k mile 06 listed on here with 100k powertrain warranty asking $33,995 but its red. You asked if the price is fair yes, is it a steal no. But if its the car you want with the equipment you want and you plan on keeping it then buy it, can you get other cars cheaper. ...yes but are they what you want?

If the car is in perfect condition and has the options and color that interest you I think it is a fair deal. It probably cost him ~20 grand to put those 6200 miles on the car at that price. Best of luck with your decision. Post some pictures if you decide to go for it.
