Personal debt is the worse for individual to overcome. You can't do anything about the National debt or commercial and that will affect all of us the same way. Personal debt will ultimately determine how long you can hold out. The wolves (debt collectors) will be very aggressive this time. I don't think the banks will have a choice but to find blood in the turnip. here is no way the government will be able to bail all debtors out.

If Obama really wants to address unemployment, he can find a job for every American citizen rounding up and deporting the illegal aliens now working in the United States. People say it isn't "practical" to do that, but Americans have a history of finding ways to do difficult jobs. Many of the "creme" people currently laid off would be happy to take a job with ICE tracking down and ejecting the 12 to 20 million illegals currently taking jobs away from Americans.

And doesn't Obama want to give them benefits like ss, etc.? Irks me to no end too.

yup.... when unemployment gets high enough, it will occur. I don't understand how you can be here illegally and then demand in-state tuition rates, free health care...etc. How can you have cities that have safe havens for illegals? I'm the son of immigrants before anyone gets any cute ideas....but my family waited in line for several yrs and came here legally. I just don't get this

I definitely understand why people want to come here, but that is no excuse to do that illegally. Also, when times were good I don't think people cared, but now that the squeeze is on, this will be another very hot issue as we will be looking to see how to save unnecessary costs especially that money will become more scarce. Although deportation sounds much easier than it is, 25 million could cause serious civil unrest, add that to a post election boiling pot and a bad economy, man that can not be good....

Borders, language and culture.

Thank you for articulating everything I know to be true. The sky isn't falling. Just one of the waves this economy always goes through. This is just our liberal socialist press.

Just don't over-extend and be prepared for the rain. Sooner or later, it always rains.

I paid cash for my Vette by driving a used Vette for 5 years and being patient and saving.

I have a good above average paying job but I could do fine making half what I am now. So I put 2K or more a month into my savings account.

I count myself lucky and blessed in many ways but common sense helps too!!
