Two Dealers didn"t want the car One said he has no money to buy it!!! I sold it to a Jeep dealer on trade to save the taxes netted 39k I bought an 08 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited w/ NAV and a HEMI...5000 miles $24000 If i waited the Vette would loose more value.. When the snow flies up north .Get what you can and move on!
I would think if you asked here what anyone would be willing to pay, you would see the same consensus. The dealers don't want to pay at this time of year and used car buyers think the same way.
I was offered $31300 for my 07' C6, Z51, w/ 13k, Monterey Red, 3LT, 6MN. 2 tone, Chrome wheels, Nav etc.
A few months back, after I went to test drive a Z I asked what they'd give for my like new '07 C6, 4800 miles, Z51, MZ6. Wouldn't even tell me what they'd give me.

Make sure your vette gets paid off.
There is a rash of dealers who are cash poor or on the verge of going bankrupt that are unable to pay off the trade-in, and the seller gets stuck still owing money for the car that was traded in. Then the finance company going after the seller, not the dealer!
How is it a good idea... to buy a new 2008 Vette... pay over $3,000 in "Use Tax"... drive it 2000 miles.. then dump it to get a Jeep.. pay another $1500 in Use Tax... I can only guess that you paid $50,000 for the Vette... + Mods... my guess.. you are down $20,000.. and have to drive a jeep... ahhhh

Can you explain that a little further , are you saying the dealership pays off the finance company with a bad check, then the finance company goes after the lein holder? If the dealership writes a bad check to anybody , on a business acccount ,they're liable for criminal charges.

Guys- I didn't get rid of my vett to buy a jeep. I sold the vette because I never used it! I bought the vett on the GMS plan..(thank god) I have 3 new cars in the driveway.. I have an 08 outlook loaded on lease. can't wait to turn it in. No power 6 speed auto 13.0 mpg city.(leaky roof, lumbar, and seat motor not working) I loved my o6 and 08 coupes.I needed a car for my son who just had a baby. I will buy another vett next year when they are selling at half off. GM really hurt the vette resale market by flooding it with incentives. Great for the new buyer. BTW- I have had 8 Jeeps and never ONCE had to take any back for service repairs. I had an 07 Yukon loaded. nice, but the windows would not open on really hot days and the gas gauge didn't work half the time also I had a flat on the Fla turnpike. Spare would not drop down. I had to be towed! 5 hrs later a truck showed up ..Onstar doesn"t service Fla turnpike...3 trips to dealer still not fixed!...
Check out the NAV and Boston stereo.. Superior by far to GM.I have been a GM fan for years. But, they don"t have any models I would buy, other than the Vette I STILL BOUGHT AN AMERICAN CAR! Sorry for the rant but GM needs a tune-up!!!!

Seeing this post makes me wonder why we would want to bail out GM???
this is precisely why I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee hemi and the vette cause of something called winter.
Yah, the hemi is loaded down by the weight of the SUV. However, with no passengers it is a kick to have a truck that is faster than just about any other "truck".
The vehicle has automatic cylinder deactivation and gets 20mpg with four adults and fully loaded on long trips. Not too bad.
