How do I clear codes? On-star said my 1 to 4 shift has thrown a code. I do have the CAGS Fuses.
CAGS Fuses?...as in plural? There is just a single fuse that needs to be replaced...not multiple fuses. If the fuse is properly prepared (blown) and if the Smart fuse lamp is working (verifiable when you blow the fuse) and assuming you installed it in the right location, then you should not be getting a CEL. The CAGS solenoid fuse is the #10 fuse. I'd recommend you recheck which fuse/s you replaced if you are setting a code. Verify that it is indeed the #10 fuse. Look at the diagram in the lid of your fuse box. You should be looking at the fuse number on the end of the fuse in the diagram...not the numbers on the side of the fuse box. It is very common for people to mis-id the right fuse based on the marking on the side of the fuse box and they unintentionally pull the #8 fuse (parking lights) thinking they are pulling the #10 fuse.

I have had the fuse installed for 6 weeks with no problems till today.
Excuse the bluntness but have you verified the correct installed location of the fuse by comparing the photos I posted to your install? You could easily have been riding around for 6 weeks and not have seen the 1to4 shift parameters depending upon your driving style. I also don't believe the CEL lights on the first failure of the skip shift circuit. It is probably on the order of 3-5 failed attempts before the CEL is set.
Pull the Smart Fuse and verify that the LED/bulb is still functioning. The CEL indicates that the computer has attempted to initiate the 1to4 shift and returned an error after ? X ? number of attempts. Verify that the fuse is still functioning properly by pulling it and connecting 12 volts across the pins. The fuse LED/bulb should light. If it does, then you do have some other issue.
To answer your first question...simply replace the CAGS LED Smart Fuse with the original fuse and either purchase a code scanner (available at about any auto parts store or even WalMart for that matter...about $50) and use the code clear feature or often times places like Autozone will scan the codes for you for free and although they are not supposed to, many will allow you to clear the code with their scanner.
I suspect either your $1.00 fuse's "smart" feature has failed or you have an improper install.
FYI I to have been riding around for approx 6 weeks with the CAGS fuse in my 09' and it is working as it should. I have probably only seen the 1to4 lamp in the dash a half dozen times in the past 6 weeks!
