Hey guys maybe you can help me out with the following decision. My next mod was either going to be ordering a set of CCW's for the C6 with a rim and tire package able to fit the 325 tire in the rear or doing the Z06 fenders so I can fit a 345 tire. I tried using the search function but I don't know if it is not working for me at my work computer or it is just down for now.
1. I heard a rumor that the C6's with the wide rear only mods do not handle as well because now the car is unbalanced. Is that true?
2. Is it possible to do the rear fenders and the front fenders and just skip the Z06 bumper or will this not line up properly? Is doing the rears only a better idea unless you are going to do all three, rears, fronts, and z06 bumper.
3. If I do decide to go wide in the back is their anything else I would need to order besides the fenders? Is there a complete kit that comes with everything the body shop will need to do a good job? I figured I would order from Gene when I am ready since I heard he has the best prices and good service.
4. If anyone has any pics of the Z06 fender only cars please post them in this thread. I do remember seeing a pic and I thought it looked a bit weird with just the rears but it could have just been the picture. Thanks for your help!

1. It will change the handling slightly - you will have a bit more rear grip.
Anytime you change tires, tire or wheel sizes, springs, sway bars, relocate battery, etc, you change the so-called 'balance' of the car. Adding larger rear tires and wider wheels does increase your rear grip, but its far from 'unbalanced'. Many would say that a car as light and powerful as the C6 can always use more rear grip, but of course, there are as many opinions on that as there are drivers. You may like the new 'balance'.
Bottom line -- yes, the balance is changed, but that is not necessarily a bad thing. People change the balance of their C6's all the time through all sorts of mods. Don't worry about it, and enjoy the widebody!
Cheers,
Kent

Good point. I already changed the balance of the car anyway by adding the supercharger.
Just my humble opinion, but I do think the skinnier fender lip of the Z06 rear quarters looks odd on a car with the standard front fenders, which have a wide flat lip.

I would have never noticed that if you hadn't mentioned it. I'm sure my eyes will look for it every time I see one now but I really like the wide-booty look.

I never noticed that either. Damn, now I'll be looking at it all the time!!!

Had noticed that right away when these wide-rear-only cars started to appear on the forum, and I think it is this what gives the car a somewhat unbalanced look, rather then the rear being wider then the front.
Don't get me wrong, I like the look, just think it might be even better if there would be wider fenders with the standard width lip available...
i actually saw a set of z06 panels that had the standard lip on them, they were on ebay and i almost picked them up, the guy selling them is actually on here, he was selling some aftermarket wheels in the used parts section a couple weeks ago, its an orange vette and he is from canada but forgot his username so not sure where he got the fenders from.
