Just read an Article in Consumers Report that Die Hard Platenum is the best purchase . Had the highest cranking power reserve something I would want in a Vet.
I am going to buy a Costco battery for my 2000 Camaro SS in the next week or so. I saw them the last time I was in Costco. I did a little research and found out that they are made by Johnson Control who also makes the Optima line of batteries. I was going to buy a red top as I have Optimas in several of my other cars and boat, but after looking at the specs on the Costco, along with their 3 year no cost replacement I think I will go with them. Cost on the one for the SS is $55.95. If you decide to go with an Optima, Costco had some of the best prices I've seen on them.
Since the factory battery did not make it 3 years... and the Corvette seems to be hard on batteries... I got the Auto Zone "Special" battery for Corvettes, it was like $100, fit great, and has a 3 year Free replacement no pro-rate warranty, and then pro-rate for 7 years. You only really rent the battery in a Vette.
I have the Red Optima's in my Suburban and 1969 Camaro... see what happens when it fails at 3 years... I know 1st hand. ZIP
