Use soft luggage that conforms to the nooks and crannies and you will get a lot in the storage area. The C6 vert is really lacking on storage. On a long road trip I had to unload the bags and place the clothes in various locations. When I arrived at my stops I had to repack to get the stuff into the hotel. Was on the road for two weeks.

And, your wife will keep carrying various bags, boxes, open topped totes, and freezer bags out to be packed. It doesn't matter if it's the Corvette or the Deville or the Ridgeline with the rear seats flipped up, it's full when it leaves the garage. And you will have to throw out your dirty underwear to pack in the gift shop items bought on the trip.
