I think I just had a small stroke after receiving a quote for a clear bra install. Can someone give me an idea of what others are paying? My quote was $1050.00
I think there are some here who've had it done for 500+, and some at way over 1K. First, it depends on where you live (and how much competition there is), and second, it depends on how much of the car you're going to get covered. As always said, however, while the material is important, the installer is more important by a big factor.
Entire front end.
Headlights & foglights
1/2 way up the hood and front quarters
Rocker panels
Side Mirrors
1/2 way up the rear quarter panels in front of the rear wheels
Behind each rear wheel
your real question should be: how much is a top quality paint job to repaint all the areas covered by the bra, over and over again? i have spent $1,000 to do my C6, $650 to do my CTS and $400 to do my avalanche. i don't worry about chips and repainting road damage. if chips and damage don't bother you, save your money. it's not a $14,000 smart car.
I paid $1,600 for the following:
Entire front bumper
Entire hood
Entire front 1/4 panels
2 side mirrors
2 lower rocker panels
I decided to go the full coverage route so that there would be no lines at all on the hood or 1/4 panels. Unless you look close, you'd never know its there. I too almost choked when I heard the price the first time, but I do think its worth it.
Think some in my area paid around $500-$650 for the nose, lower portion of the hood, the two mirrors and part of the front fenders. I know there was a special discount offered by Corvette Mike of Plymouth after he put on a demo. If you signed up during that demo you got the discount. At least two or three club members took advantage of the discount.
I paid $550 for the Viper:
full nose
half hood
half fenders
mirrors
rocker area behind front wheels
lower quarter behind rear wheels
Just had the Z06 done yesterday, it cost $650
full nose
half hood
half fenders
mirrors
entire lower rockers
area behind front tires (Z06 emblem and down)
area in front of rear tires (brake scoop and down)
both holes for the door release grab
Place does a great job, it is at an exotic car dealership in West Houston. Invisishield.com
The price of a clear bra not only gives you protection from rock chips and road debris. it gives tou protection from leaving your CORVETTE at the local body shop to get unprotected bumpers repainted from rock chips and debris.not to mention how many people will be driving your CORVETTE in out of the shop during the week or two it's thereto get the nose repainted. then how much overspray are you going to have to clean up. BUY A CLEAR BRA but find the correct installer. certified and trims off of the vehicle if needed. NO CUTTING WHILE INSTALLED ON THE CAR
An experienced installer knows how to properly cut the film while on the car. Rookies press too hard and cut through the film. All you really need to do is score the film with the razor, it will tear away at the cut. It is very difficult to install the nose film on a Corvette with a pre-cut kit, they never fit as good as a custom job.

Reason: spelling
Front end half way up the fenders and hood
Headlights
Fog lights
Both mirrors
Behind front wheels and lower fender areas
Behind read wheels
Inside the grab handle for opening the door
I also tried to get the installer to do a tear off on the windshield but he said he wasn't happy with the way it installed.

Paid $1200 for all of the above except behind the rear wheels. BUT, had front half of both smoke and red top done.
