Default Interior light mod

I would like to do the interior light mod with blue lights and have read through a lot of topics about it here on the forum.

From what I could see is then when using the LED’s (found some at http://autolumination.com/194.htm) then it could end up draining the battery because they never turn off totally. Are there any alternative with blue 194 bulbs and where to buy them?

As fare as I understood then I will need 6 pcs 194 bulbs
2 for the review mirror
2 for under dashboard
2 for license plate

Is this correct?

What about the once for the trunk and under the hood, which bulbs can be used there and where did you buy them, or is it not possible to get a P&P solution for that?

Its not that they dont turn completly off its that they stay lit because there is excess current stored and eventually they will drain and turn off, i have had mine installed for 2 months now and have no problems.

Ok, do you use the once with 5 LED’s or is there space for the once a size bigger?
Also what about the once in the trunk, did you change them as well and if yes which ones did you use there?

I believe I was the first to install Blue LEDs in my car 3 yrs ago, the front 4 are 194 bulbs and the back are a special bulb called a festoon with wire loops on each end. LEDs as I found out do not have enough resistance to completely make the dim down circuit work correctly. You can add a resistor or just use incandescent bulbs although you won't get this type of blue

i did use the one with 5 leds, you probably could go bigger as there is room in the mirror and floor lights. Didnt do the trunk yet as i couldnt find bulbs for that, but it seem pipedreams knows which ones and ill have to find a pair of those.

Both my GF and I have LEDs in our 08s (194s only, the hatch area still has the stock bulbs).

Interestingly her map lights stay on slightly (or at least don't go out for a LONG time) and mine go off completely with the dim down circuit.

The only difference in our cars is that I have the small amber ambient light above the console and she doesn't.

In any case though, neither of us has had any battery drain issues a few months later.
