You don't need one...... check the dealers on this forum. Even my local dealers are giving them away, there's just no buyers. Vets, that is, not G8s. What's a G8 anyhow ?

Exactly as stated, GMS isn't needed right now. Having said that, you need to know that GMS is reserved for GM Employees and their immediate families only. They can't give that out to just anyone or else they'll lose the privledge forever.

There was a promo in Aug whereby GM employees could give out 1 GMS # to anyone interested in buying a GM product. I got a number and purchased a '08 Z06 with 0 % interest fro 48 months. Around August 20th, GM announced GMS for everyone but no 0 %. Check with the forum dealers and I'm sure you'll get a killer deal.

And people wonder why GM is having problems. They should just reduce their cars prices to the market value and don't budge with them. Make the incentives financing. That is how import companies are selling their cars and getting the reputation that they are actually worth something.

GM should also get their dealers to stop low-balling the trade in prices because people in general have a lot of dislike that they pay top dollar for a new car and one year later, most of them are only worth %50 of that original price. Give decent trade-in value and people will come back.

Unfortunately they have a new middle man, the auction. The buying dealer wants to make a profit from you by selling it to the auction, then the auction wants to make a profit then the selling dealer wants his share. IMO the market still doesn't want to sell cars (I've been looking since my Impala was in an accident.

GMS is a major problem though. They should give employee pricing only to employees, not their families, friends and definitely not strangers. I'm not going to pay more for a car then a non-employee. I'll just go somewhere else.

It's a Pontiac G8. It has an LS2. The GXP has just over 400 hp. It is a nice car, but it's not a Vette.

I drove a GXP with a lady shopping for one in Albuquerque. That sucker was fast and even at high altitude! Just zero room for luggage.
