Is Atomic Orange a popular (and repairable) color?
Looking to buy C6 - and I really like the Atomic Orange.
Is it a popular color?
I have heard issues about paint-matching with the AO C5's (which are rare). So, my question is - if I buy an AO colored C6, could a body shop match the paint if an accident occurs.
thanks

Popular? Who knows. Color is so subjective and I've never given a damn what someone else thinks of the colors of my vehicles. I happen to LOVE it.
I'm sure a good body shop would have no problems with it at all.

Popular? You can search and find the production stats that show GM does not make as many of these as some other colors. But I sure get positive comments on mine, even from other Corvette owners.
Several forum members have reported good luck in repairs that required repainting.
In the end, you have to get a color you love and don't worry about what others think.

On a popularity basis, I'd say if I recall the numbers it's one of the lower 3 colors sold. I don't recall it in the C5s, but I do know it was begun in the C6's in the '07 model year and carries over thru the '09's.
Is it hard to repair? I don't know. I hope I never find out. My belief is a good to excellent paint shop that knows what it's doing and understands the "art' of painting can match it, or even repaint the car to look original. But let's face the facts: there aren't a lot of good paint shops while there are many that are competent.

I went through the same thing before (and after) I ordered my '09 AO. I love the color and have no regrets. I also posted a thread asking if ANYONE liked AO and received dozens and dozens of positive responses.
I'm sure you'll have a similar experience.

When I did the widebody on my car they had no issues matching the paint. The body shop that did the panels never even saw the car. I only took them the new panels and my gas lid to match from. So there was no blending on my car. Only Panel painted. The "flop" in the Atomic Orange paint helps hide any minor differences anyway, here's how it turned out.

With all of these AO posts, I think it is becoming more popular. Color matching would be a real pain since it is metallic and the OEM paint has orange peel.
