Forget the Bose idea and do what I told you to do if you really want good sound. The Bose swap is a complete waste of time, money and effort. The system sounds like crap. Some say the stock stereo sounds better.
Bose builds junk; it's all marketing hype and no substance. Some of their (truly) professional stuff is decent, but ALL of their consumer grade stuff is absolute garbage and their OEM automotive stuff is the worst of all.
Refer to the audio section of this site if you want any more information:
You would be wasting your time anyway. The Bose is not that good anyway. You'll be better off putting some good components up front and get an amp for them and maybe add a sub. Check out the audio section.
i just added one ten and an amp and it really sounds nice with the factory unit. Ran it off the low line inputs off the head unit. Got all the info off the audio forum. There are some sharp VERY helpfull fellas over there.
A ten and an amp,,,I would start with that,,,the coupe has some awesome acoustics for a sub. Just a small amp and a ten can be very loud. As yo umay know the tweets and mids do ok but adding some more low's is really all you need IMO, with the stock unit and a sub i think you will be totally happy, good luck, paul

Hey Hanny could you pleezz pm. I would like to know everthing i need to do this and dont wont to for get to pick something up for the install. Im glad to hear you say it sounds good with this mod!! You also but 3 b.a in the front right??
I will second it is a total waste of time, you are going from bad to slightly less than pathetic. The best mod I did was to replace the Blose with real speakers and an amp. I also added an 8" sub to the left rear cubby, so my installation looks completely stealth and I did not lose any room in the hatch area at all. I retained the stock HU and the sound simply blows away the Blose system. It was a very simple setup to put together and in reality anyone can do it. Instructions are in the Audio section and if you find my post on the sub, you can see what I did
