I know General Motors is having a tough time and I thought I would just mention something about my 07 vert. This car is great, my DD from march to October here in New England. I have had to do nothing but change the oil in almost three years, not so much a squeak or a rattle. The battery is fine even though it mostly sits all winter. I get 20 mpg and it is happy on regular fuel. I know I am preaching to the choir here but I just thought I would mention that I love this car.
I've been a GM fan my entire life and have purchased nothing but GM products. I have no desire to drive anything else. Yes, The big three are in trouble but I believe they will survive one way or another. I just can't bring myself to buy non domestic brands. JMHO.

The BG factory is the premier assembly pant for GM, no coincidence that the Corvette and The XLR is built there. Maybe some of the other plants could take some pointers from BG and the great employees that work there. I realize that there issues at work that none of us can even imagine. I just hope that everything gets worked out where we can stop speculating about Toyota built Corvettes.
Besides 3 Corvettes, I have a '40 Chev Coupe with original engine, a '68 Impala Wagon with 327 and none of the cars have had any problems other than normal routine maintenence

Many Corvettes and now my winter ride, a 2008 TrailBlazer SS with the 400HP LS2.
As much as I hate to say it, GM needs to file for BK and restructure. I think a Government bailout is just going to keep things 'status quo' with the current management there.
They need to replace the entire management team and bring in people that can turn this giant around into something to be proud of.
If these current exec's get bailout money, they are just going to get back on their private jets and it'll be business as usual for them. And if anyone thinks differently, what have they done to change things thus far....?

I loved the remark made by someone at the "we want a lotta money" meeting. Something to the effect about all the CEOs from the big three getting off their private jets with a tin cup. LMAO!

This is the first post ANYWHERE that I've seen that mentions the real problem at GM. Most people blame union workers.

G.M. has gotten allot more than love from me. I've owned 23 Chevrolets,1 Cadillac, 1 Buick, and 1 Saturn. I still own 4 Chevrolets, a 2008 VR Coupe, 2003 VR Ext. Cab Truck, 2003 Astro Van, 1963 Nova SS convertible. G.M. needs to file a planned Ch.11 BK and go non union. No more U.A.W.. They can restructure and put the workers on the same pay plan as Honda or Toyota America, take it or be unemployed. Then Congress would be able to justify some low interest loans if their new business plan could prove to be profitable.

I have a Ford Mustang, Dodge Caravan-Neon and of course, the C6 Corvette.
Interestingly, nowhere on the Corvette does it say Chevrolet, unless I'm missing something.
