I took the museum delivery of my first ever Vette in August of '06. Reading your excellent accounting of your delivery vividly reminded me of it all over again.

Thanks, I do appreciate your taking the time to write such an in-depth report.

Just wait until you're past the break-in period, then you can see what it's like to downshift to 3rd while doing 70.

Very thoughtful write-up! I'm sure it will help many people still on the fence to make the right decision.

Congrats and enjoy it!

Thanks!

Yea, it was no fun. But in retrospect, I'm kind of glad it happened (despite my needing to wash the car sooner than anticipated) in that I'm not as fearful of being caught in bad weather now. I still prefer not having to get in bad weather on it, but at least I know it's not a death trap like the Merc was.

Wow, that's a great write up! You know it's funny. It looks great, but on the video in motion, it looks even better for some reason!?! And you're right, by letting everyone else participate, it makes it a bit more special. Congrats on the car, the wife and the trip!

That was a wonderful right up about our favorite car the C6 Corvette. Mine's a 05 Magnetic Metalic Red LS2 model that I bought from a one owner Airline Pilot. To me since I'm not spoiled yet this car is the most fantastic car I've ever owned!

I know its a 05 but is beautiful, fast, best color I've ever seen and perfect for me.

I better not go to the dealer and drive a new one cause mine looks like an 09 and to me rides wonderfully and my wife would kick my *** for trading her.

Again thanks for the experience. I learned a few things.

Dave

Congrats on the new vette. Never considered Museum Delivery as all my purchases '94 M6 Coupe, '01 M6 Coupe and '07 A6 Coupe were straight off the same dealer's front lot (salesman always saw the sucker look in my and my wife's faces). Had the F45 in the C4 and C5 (although I think was called something else in the C4) and F55 in th C6. Consider the Z51 sways instead of of the Z06 sways.

Even here in CA left lane bandits tend to move over faster. Always moved over faster in my Torch Red C5 however.

Enjoy and great writeup.
