Recently saw an '05 C6 with a spoiler that barely stuck up a half inch. Mine sticks up probably 1-2 inches and has a break light in it. the owner of the other C6 noticed his spoiler wasn't like that at all. i figured his was just a really early model '05 and maybe GM changed it to add the break light early in production in '05.
then today i saw pics of an '08 vert on another forum site that had the same nub spoiler. it's practically flat and i don't see how it could possibly serve any purpose.
what's the specifics on these different spoilers on stock C6s? thanks!
Not sure I fully understand what spoilers you are talking about...as there are many that can be put on the car. Below are pics of a stock spoiler (in body color) which doesn't stick up much, and my new GM racing spoiler which runs the full length of the rear end and sticks up about 2-3 inches.
Check out the GM Racing Spoiler ~ the only way to go. Gene Culley sells them painted for a very reasonable price.
I bought the GM Racing Spoiler and when I found that I had to drill holes in my new Corvette to install it I returned it and bought the painted ZO6 spoiler.

Did the GM racing spoiler have studs in the center to bolt it on where you removed the factory spoiler. I understand it must have had additional studs also and for these you would have to drill additional holes in your rear bumper. I want to purchase the GM racing spoiler also but don't want to drill holes either. Was it possible to use the two sided body moulding tape on the ends and bolt it in the center?
The GM racing spoiler attaches with the original holes in the mid section of the tail end using the original attach points. Then...yes...you have to drill holes (2 on each side) for the other attach bolts.
Personally I DIDN'T want to buy something that was taped on. Repeated washings and a little rain and in a few years it will look like crap, be loose and fall off. JMHO.
The GM racing spoiler is a commitment...you gotta drill. But it comes with a very nice and accurate template for where to drill.

I don't think so.

Good luck.
The template comes packaged in the box with the spoiler if you order it from GM?
The template comes with the spoiler. I drilled the holes myself, it wasn't really THAT big of a deal.
The GM Racing spoiler doesn't come with the mounting studs for the center section, you transfer the studs from the OEM spoiler. It does have extra studs for the ends.
It didn't take me very long, maybe 2 hrs to install.
