Whats that Light????
I thought I knew my car pretty well ( '07 Coupe 4000 miles).
Then my 11 year old son asked, Dad whats that light behind the passenger Visor.
I was dumbfounded, not so much because I didn't know what it was, but that I hadn't seen it before.
Small orange LED looking light.....
Is this just a subtle light for the interior shifter area?

2007 owner's manual, page 171.
Quote:
An ambient light is located in the passenger sun
visor clip. This light stays on while driving to
keep the cabin from being too dark.

It is an internal ambient light. They mention it in the manual and it comes up often on this site. Having said that, it was 2 years before I noticed mine....

Sounds like it's that time of the month again!
(J/K - as you'll see after you've been here for awhile, this Q gets asked at least once a month, every month.)

OK, I have seen it but didn't until I saw something about it on this forum. It isn't bright enough to even notice.
Maybe this is why Vettes tend to have battery problems??!!

Doubtful. There's no way to turn it off, so it's probably not a part of the problem.

Just wait till you interior lights won't shut off.
BTW: They got rid of that visor light in '08 right?

My 2006 Honda Ridgeline pickup has one of these. So the Vette isn't that unique.

Yep, it was dropped as a mid-year running change in the '08 model year cars.

That light won't be much of a loss for those that have the NAV system. The NAV screen generates enough light to keep the whole console area lit up, much less the shifter area.

They've gone downhill ever since the ambient light went away....anybody notice that the light went away at just about the same time that GM stock started to tank.....coincidence????.....I think not
