It's been posted previously - I think this was a "GM - sponsored" burnout.
Kind of bothers me to see that level of abuse to a nice vehicle - borders on pure stupidity.

its okay to do it when youre due for a tire change anyway. SMOKE EM UP !
The drivetrain is designed to handle a lot of stress. The only thing id worry about is the molten rubber sticking everywhere and possibly damaging the fenders or the paint.

oh yes..... Carlisle. Really good time. Lots and lots of burn outs. That was one of the few that went all the way though, most people stopped before the pop.

Correct, he was the plant manager until he retired this year I believe.

I thought that this had been put to rest a long time ago. The car that Will used was an old test mule that was on it's way to be crushed. As a GM engineer friend said to me, compared to some of the other things that car had been subjected to the burn out was a walk in the park.
