If the AM or FM radio/XM/CD are on, there is no way to display the Crossed flag emblem. When you said with the Nav radio on, I couldn't tell if you meant the nav portion or the radio/audio portion.
You can however try this. The only way that this might work is with the radio off. If you want to navigate, don't need the map display and don't care if you have the radio on.
If so, turn on the radio and switch to the nav screen. Plot your trip. Enter your destination and switch to the radio display. Now, turn off the radio by pushing the ****. I think that will bring up the crossed flags but leave the navigation voice prompts on in the background. I haven't tried it in a while and don't recall what the result was.

Don't forget - this ONLY works if you do this with your left hand while sitting in the driver's seat and the wipers on...........
