Hello all a good friend of mine has a 2005 Corvette she bought when she was residing in Atlanta Georgia. She now lives here in Los Angeles and needs to get her Corvette licensed and registered in California. Are all Corvettes 50 state emissions legal? Thank you very much in advance.

Yes. I believe that they're all 50 states legal but they formerly had a plaque for cars going to California indicating that it was also California emissions legal. I'm not sure if they still have the special California designation but bringing a recent one into the state shouldn't be a problem.
The easiest thing to do is just check the internet for current California rules. There used to be some rule about bringing in a used car versus a new one too.

Yes they are. The problem is having that sticker that states it meets California emissions standards. (which she won't have or get) All she should need to do is get it smogged and get the certificate. I have done this on a few occasions when I brought cars out of state after my duty was up in various other states. She can get a temp registration from DMV first.
If you are moving to California from another state, you may register a new federally certified vehicle in California if it was first registered by you in your home state, or for military personnel, in your last state of military service. When applying for vehicle registration in California, you must provide evidence of your vehicle's previous registration and that you were a resident of the other state when you acquired the vehicle.
When I bought (from another state) and brought my USED 05 into California. I had to show the previous guys registration from the previous state. Then the DMV came out and verified that this was the car in question. Then they had me pop the hood and looked at the California emission sticker which I believe was on the right side of the hood near the bottom. We actually had to search a while to find it. If you need I can find it and let you know. Then all was easy just write a check for a few thousand dollars.
I believe dmv will allow title switch with in family for a nominal fee. Then you will be hit with the license fee which I don't know. Are you and ex-hubby nice to each other? or ?
