Hello to all, new member here. Artic white 4lt 2008 auto.
Have question. CEL came on a while back and the code was evaprotive emmissson small leak. I tightened up the gas cap and it went away. I got it again several days ago and even though I tried the gas cap thing again it will not go away. Just now replaced the gas cap as it seemed loose to me. Hopefully this will fix it. I was just wondering if anyone else had run into this. Also when I had autoparts store run the scan they could read the code but not clear it, it kept saying it needed to have key on but engine not running....that is not possible with the fob/button ingnition. Any thoughts on that.

Sorry post so long and rambling.

That issue is not uncommon and not limited to the Corvette.
You put the car into the ignition on, engine off mode (like turning the key but not hitting the starter) by holding down the bottom of the start switch for more than 5 seconds.
Thank you. Tried the 5 second thing just now and worked perfectly. Made me feel stupid. Thanks again.

Welcome! Don't feel stupid, Steve! These are very sophisticated cars, and I've been through a number of "dumbguy" things myself, being my first 'Vette. Fortunately, the help available on this forum is GREAT!
Aloha and welcome to the CF family. No need to apologize or feel stupid. You are a new owner and you will have a lot of questions about your car so don't hesitate in asking as we want you to enjoy your car and most of us here are willing to help.
