Default z06 conversion project update

thought maybe you guys wanted to see the update on my z06 coversion on my victory red vert. nose is on. not painted but on. i fit everything up except for the inners and misc to make sure alignment worked. i picked up the parts used. and the nose cost me 1400.00 plus 350.00 for the inners etc which i got from gene culley also did the dsvettes center consule with shifter boot and **** and brake boot with ****. installed an 08 senter consule in carbon fiber. i actually just received my carbon laid speedo cluster surround and passenger vent i sent to tko to be done in 08 carbon fiber. all i can say is wow! tko is awesome and the job quality is seond to none. i will be sending out more parts this week to them. if anyone is thinking of doing the parts from tko. do it. you will not be disappointed. dsvettes also outstanding. i did my parts in ebony with titanium stitching.

i purchased my wheels and tires from richy over at vossen forged. these were the actual rims used on the z06 car in the photo shoot. 20x9.5 up front and 20x12.5 in the rear. i did not install all the wheels yet. only the front rims to make sure i had the right clearance in the wheel wells. i went with the nitto invos 285/25/20 in the front and 345/25/20 in the rear. lowered the front stock bolts all the way. i will do the back soon. i will be doing the quarters in begining of jan. i have to
modify them to fit the vert.

the car has a maggie on it. i will be doing kooks headers and high flow cats. also ram air and smaller pulley on the magnacharger. im also putting the gt2 style rear diffuser with the exhaust. i have a magnaflow exhaust now, but i will be taking that off and selling it.

many thanks to evryone here on the forum. without the info here i couldny pull this off. im doing the labor myself so i used alot of info posted here. once evrything is fitted up, i will take it to my body man to paint. he is real good and its gonna cost me 2000.00. he paints the best!!!!

anyway ill keep you posted on the progress!! check out the pics!!!

By "conversion" do you mean your making a Z06 clone? And, if you are, how could you make a clone of a car , that is a Z06 vert, that does not exist?

Just curious

your'e the first person I have seen to do it backwards usually the rear quarters are first then the front. Nevertheless it looks good and good luck with the project.

Ps, make sure they fill the holes where the Z06 emblems were on the front fenders.

Just as an FYI, the Caravaggio rear fiberglass quarters fit nice but do require a lot of prep work and final fitting. I opted for the rear quarters without the rear brake duct. I plan on swapping out the front end this spring with an OEM painted Z06 front end.

A Z-06 emblem will fill those holes nicely.

I am sure he will have more issues with forum members than will the car.

What did you get for the 1400.00? If it was just the nose you may consider shopping the forum "for sale" area. I have seen some great prices on conversion pieces.

congrats on your project... all I would advise is don't put a Z06 badge on it.

would love to see some dyno numbers.

Nice, I too am doing the conversion. LOL I also have a maggie. I'm going with the ZR1 fenders though. I had alot of parts arriving this past week. I had no idea how big 345s were for the rear Z06 wheels.
