My insurance company (SF) said they will not cover my Vette on the track. Do other insurance companies cover track time (and have you confirmed that with them)? What do you guys/gals do for insurance?
I'm not sure but I think that some insurance companies may consider HPDE track events as a driving skills class. I called my agent and sent him an HPDE certificate and he took $15 off my annual premium. So I would think that if they considered it a driver training class that they would cover it. Again, I haven't checked to make sure.
Some Corvette clubs have a blanket policy for members but when I checked on ours they covered us until we entered the racing facility.
I got mine from WSIB Motorsports Insurance. It a yearly not day of. They have a list of approved DE events/clubs.

I'm assuming I'd be wasting my time & hers if I asked about racing my car at Englishtown or Maple Grove Drag Strips
Thank God I've been lucky enough not to have any encounter with the walls since I've been Drag Racing (1961) Although I've seen many Vetts bang the walls because if "Inexperienced Drivers" ! The major cause is they start to spin, & DON'T get off the Gas! Once your spinning the run is lost so why keep on the gas and risk hitting the wall..
I know insurance won't cover my car if it hits the wall at a drag strip so .. I ALWAYS lot off the gas if the car starts to get squirrelly
