Default C6 emblem needs gluing help

I was hoping somebody could help me out on this little project.

My wife gave me this brushed aluminum C6 emblem for Christmas. I want to glue it to the top of my tool box or inside the lid (see pictures)

What would be the best adhesive to use?

Thanks in advance.

Personally, I would recommend you use some 3M VHB tape. Will hold big time...but can be removed if necessary.

I'd agree with double sided tape . . .you can trim it away from the openings in the sculpted logo.

As an aside, where did she get it ?? That's something I'd enjoy too - -it's great looking - - congrats !

Thanks Mike - - appreciate the web site !

Rollie, you can get them from this site: http://www.carartwork.biz/

We also have a X-mas tree ornament from them too.

I thought about double sided tape, but it won't lay flat if I do that.
I'm not worried about taking it off, my Vette and toolbox are going to the grave with me.

Then go for some silicon glue. It is moisture cured and has a bit of give to it as it ends up as an elastomer rather than something rigid.

If you are going to consider it permanent......Gorilla Glue!! Apply a bit to the emblem, let it dry for a few minutes, then tape it in place.......it IS going to stick!!

3M Double Sided Heavy Duty Tape. Has the red backing tape.

Clean both surfaces with denatured alcohol and it will not come off. Buy it at Home Depot or Lowes. I used it on my Z06 splash guard and it stuck really well.

Sounds like it would work. Do you know if Gorilla Glue is a good metal-to-metal adhesive? I was also thinking of JB Weld. It's a two part epoxy glue. Has anyone used this product?

Yes, JB Weld is great for boding metal to metal. It will give you a permanent bond, make sure you want it to be permanent if that's what you use. You can fix a John Deer with that stuff.

In the old days we would have used freshly chewed Double Bubble Gum. It worked fine.

If you are going to use an epoxy like JBWeld, take the paint off the toolbox, or else your adhesive joint will be no stronger than the paint.
