Default NAV Question

Has anyone experienced a problem with their NAV system. I have an 09 and twice the screen has not come on. Radio working well. Note that the temperature was below 32 degrees both times it occurred.

Car is garaged and after it was warmed up, I the shut it down and used the remote to lock the vehicle as a full reset. Started vehicle and NAV screen appeared.

Are there any known issues or advise? Note I am bringing it in for service and just would like to be ahead of the service department. Again thank you

Yes, has happened to me twice. Turn the vehicle off and wait a minute or two and restart. Came back on both times.

Works for me as well. Sort of like rebooting a computer

I had this happen once. As others have stated, upon restart everything was fine. I thought about taking it to the dealer but figured they would not be able to reproduce the problem.

This has not happened to me yet, but my car is just over 5 weeks old, so I'd not expect it. Is this however, something that comes up from time to time in daily useage? Has anybody been told of any GM fixes for it? This is the type of thing that should never happen...period...if it happens with this regularity there should be somebody looking into it...or are they to busy trying to stay afloat and don't care about the customers??

Make sure that you have the service department indicate it in the vehicle history as it will help you in getting the problem addressed in the future if it happens again. Radio head units are required by GM to be operational from -40 to 85 degrees C, so it not operating when cold is not acceptable unless it is lower than -40C. Playback mechanisms are not expected to work to quite as low a temperature, but the unit should power up and play audio. LCD displays do come up dimmer when cold, but should be to full brightness after the unit has time to warm up.

Vehicle was in garage both times for at least one week before starting. No issue with battery and it started normal. screen was not dim, just not on. If you touched the screen in the places where you would under normal conditions, the radio would respond. Even with screen blacked out.

The temp was 18 degrees (F).

This is odd
