Default Window Problem

My windows have decided to not reseal when I close the door. Could this be related to the fact that I failed to put a tender on the battery this fall and had to jump the car to get it started? Battery is holding enough of a charge to start the car, so it appears I didn't fry it (and I have now bought a tender), but could a low voltage situation cause my problem?

You may have one of two problems:

1 - You need to re-index your windows by doing the following:

A. Close the door.

B. Raise the window by pulling up the switch.

C. Hold the up switch for three seconds after the
window is closed. Release the switch.

D. Hold the up switch again for three seconds
and release.

(or)

2 - You have a defective Exterior Door Handle Switch.
You can test it by replacing it with the switch from the passenger door - very easy to remove (2 phillips screws).
If it works properly, you simply replace the switch.

You can purchase the Exterior Door Handle Switch
from Gene Culley (GMPartsHouse.com) at this link:

Hope this helps!

Your owners manual is your friend:

From page 87:

Power Window Initialize

After a power reconnect such as battery
replacement, the window index-up feature will not
function until the system is initialized. Once
power is restored, do the following:

1. Close the door.
2. Raise the window by pulling up the switch.
3. Hold the up switch for three seconds after the
window is closed. Release the switch.
4. Hold the up switch again for three seconds
and release.

Actually, the OP says he's got a 2005 C6. In his manual, those instructions are on page 2-17.

2007 is the only year (so far) that the manual page numbers were numbered consecutively from 1 through the end of the manual.

It's your friend when you don't leave it in your office 50 miles away!

Thanks for the comeback.
