I need some quick information about replacing an air bag module on a 2005/C6. The car had been in an accident where both air bags were deployed, and both bags have since been replaced. Then I replaced the module but the air bag light is still on...any thoughts? Does the computer have to be reprogrammed in some way? Do the belts have to be replaced? Corvette's are new to me, so I thought I'd ask some folks in the know because I'm amazed at the amount of information I've picked up here at Corvette Forum. Thanks!

I would suspect maybe the seat belt pre-tensioners have been activated. Here's a picture of a good one and one that has fired:
That tube has a charge in it that fires in an accident to cinch down the seat belt about 2 inches. If it has been activated you'll get an airbag light.
I replaced the seats in my Z06 with some C6 seats to get a power passenger seat and the lumbar/bolster bladders. The seats were out of an accident car, but I was told the airbags hadn't deployed.
I swapped the seat covers and put the seats in my car, but I had an airbag light. I noticed the seat belt receptacle was pulled down a little from my Z06 seat, and after investigating finally realized that the seat belt pre-tensioners must have fired in the accident. I replaced them with the ones off my Z06 seats and had no airbag light.

Good luck.

In addition to the great advice that Bob provided above some other areas need to be inspected and potentially replaced in the event of a suplemental restraint system activation and deployment.
Front left and right bumper impact sensors.
The SDM (sensing and deployment module) located behind the ashtray, under the HVAC unit.
Further the service manual recommends inspection of the following:
The seat cushion frame
The seat recliner, if equipped
The seat adjuster
The seat back frame
