Default Corvette Leasing

It used to be that when you got a vet with GMS and leased it had to be thru GMAC only- now that GMAC does not lease what is up with GMS- can you lease anywhere?

Good question! I want to know as well. Maybe a supporting dealer will provide an answer

GMS is the price.

Leasing is just like Financing. Get your lowest price for the car then negotiate the Loan or Lease.

Since your using a GM Employee program that no longer offers leasing through GMAC.. I suspect the dealer can find you a lease through one of the many banks.

ofcourse that opens all sorts of avenues for profit for them... But I believe you can work out leasing with a dealer or in some cases provide your leasing company.

The leasing companies cut checks also.

The OP probably was stuck with GMAC just like me. Those of us who in the past used GMS (Employee) auth numbers and leased were not allowed by GM to use any other bank outside of GMAC. GM would not reimburse the dealership if GMAC was not used to lease the car.

Since GMAC is on lifesupport and last month they were not writing leases does that mean those using GM employee auth #'s can us any bank we want i.e. LeaseComare.com etc....??

I've been stuck using GMAC for 15 years.....and their rates are not that attractive .

On another note.....Today it may be irrelevant since anyone can get employee pricing or less, so the GMAC rule may be a non issue.

Yep your right. Why force the hand of GM. Simply negotiate the GM employee price with a dealer. Then either have your lease company or the dealers cut the check.

Watch out for Aquisition fee's. Origination fee's. Disposition fee's (turning the car in or buying the car) Doc Fee's. etc

With GMAC w/ GMS pricing there were no other fees attached to my contract (looking at the contract now)...nada thing! I discussed it with the dealerships General Manager who handled the entire deal. Actually my calculation was pennies off the actual price GMAC quoted .

My lease is up at the end of April and my residual is 30K so GMAC is going to lose money on this one. There is no way I would get 30K on a trade 4 months from now! I will politely hand the keys over and pick up a 09 .

My 07 vert lease is up in July with a 33K residual- good luck with that one even though the car has very few miles- Maybe after March 31 there will be no more GM or the vette gets dropped as they shrink?
I wish they had a better pull ahead program.

Maybe you could fill out your profile a little better - shows a Porsche

What is your 07 Vert? 2LT 3LT ? Any suspension option? Chrome wheels?

33k Might be a good figure to buy it at - what are the miles?

What will you do if a GMAC lease is unavailable?

When you turn in your 06 come back and let me know who you leased and/or purchased with.

I like no fee's also

I may try the Leasecompare website to see what type of residuals and money factor they will have for an 09. Downside to them is they have all types of fees.....

If I didn't change cars every 3 years I would buy one instead of lease.

I will need to decide on either leasing a 09 C6 or the NEW CTS-V or purchasing a NEW 09 G8 GXP.
