Default Front plate

I'm looking at a 2005 that for me is an out of state vehicle. The car has what looks like a rubber mount on the front bumper for a plate. My state does not require a front plate. On my C5 you just put on the color filler plate. Am I stuck with this ugly rubber "bumper" or can something be ordered to fill this in like on my C5?

If it is the stock plate holder, it comes off with a little bit of heat.

It should just be stuck on with 3 sections of double sided tape. That's easily removable. It's known that some dealers have used screws to attach also - that's NOT easily removable.

Thanks for the input guys. It does look like the factory job so I should be ok. I'm sure I'll have some more dumb questions for you. I'm picking the car up Friday. It's a black on black cpe. 6spd with most options including nav, heads up , select ride, XM I believe. Clear title and carfax. 1 owner. He's selling it to make room for a Z06. It is like new as well it should be-only 6,000 miles.
