I had a set on for a while, at $357.00 they are a great buy. I bought a set of stainless steel ZOOMERS on ebay for a really good deal. The Flowmasters have a reputation for DRONE at around 1600 to 2000 RPM right a cruise speed. of course you can go faster and get away from the DRONE. The bad news is you still get some DRONE no matter how much you pay for a set of mufflers. The ZOOMERS have resonators built in that eliminates most of the drone. The FLOWMASTERS are steel painted black that is not as desirable as S/S mufflers are, but you get what you pay for. I suggest buy a set on ebay and you can always sell them and try another set. you can listen to all the exhaust sounds before you buy anything...
I had a set of Flowmasters on my 2006 Vert until I took a 1,300 Mi. trip with them. By the end of trip I was so annoyed with drone that I took them off and reinstalled the stock mufflers I did like the sound and dual exhaust tips but the drone on long trips was to much. Just my $.02 worth.
Had them on my '93 with custom tips. They sounded pretty good and performed great, but they don't seem as popular on the C6. From the videos I have seen, they seemed to have more drone than some of the other manufacturers.
Maybe folks don't trust the price and would rather pay 2500 for a full cat-back?
This is why i am asking because i'm hearring people complain about drone on the expensive models and only real dif i see is the fact that the flows are not s/s
I've had them on my '07 since Oct '06 and have loved the sound at WOT and absolutely love the popping and gurgling when downshifting. I got them because I thought the others (Corsa, Borla, etc.) were too high pitched (kind of tin sounding) and the cheap flowmasters had the deep grumbly bass. At that price I would just get them and if you aren't happy, resale them to one of your friends.

Factory stock mufflers are stainless, and have no drone. They also have less restriction than most of the noisy aftermarket mufflers.
I love mine. Sure they have a lil bit of drone but like said before I just shift out of it. Cant beat the sound of the gurgle or burble on downshift lol.
I had the Flowmasters sitting in my garage when I was still waiting for my C6 to be built. For the price, they can't be beat, I just couldn't bring myself to spend over $1k when I could have the non-stainless version shipped for under $400.
I had Borla Stingers on my C5, they had some drone in the 1700 range, but it wasn't too bad. The Flowmasters have a bit louder drone at about 1500 in the C6, but it's all but gone by 2000. Since a Z51 MN6 sits at 2000 RPM while cruising at 80 MPH, I hardly ever hear drone on long trips
